Meet Sangeeta

I am Sangeeta Mitra, a holistic wellness coach and my mission to empower you to be your best self!

The mission of Ignite Shakti is two-fold: to help individual women and men achieve personal growth and joy, and to affect the world at large by empowering women. The first will be attained by reminding these individuals that their inner value is a powerful source of love and knowledge, helping them activate that power to achieve change and self-actualization, and finally, teaching them that when beauty within is harnessed into refining strength, joy and peace follow. The latter will be the result of the first, and the global conversation that will ensue when women access their innate beauty and power. By addressing the overall health and well-being of each person, Ignite Shakti will make a positive change in the world, one person’s life at a time.

My Story

I know as well as anyone how a person’s life can be all about meeting everyone’s needs but my own. In addition to fulfilling my calling as a holistic wellness coach, I lead a busy life as a wife and the mother of twin girls, as well as an active painter and volunteer. Born in Kolkata, India, I grew up in a culture that typically does not value women and their contributions toward society. Like many women, I experienced overwhelmingly difficult trials early in my life, physically and emotionally. I felt powerless, ashamed, and traumatized. I learnt not to be seen, which throughout my life manifested in various ways and sabotaged my ability to be myself. These feelings caused so much inner turmoil for me that I lost sense of my purpose and value.

Seeking a way to validate myself, I completed her University education in Arts and then studied Computers and began a career in IT. It was then that I met my husband and started my family. I quickly became successful as a working woman, earning a six-figure salary. Juggling family and my job, however, didn’t feel like a success. In my perfectionist effort to be responsible for my family, I exhausted myself. “The more I kept giving and trying to be perfect, the emptier I became.” Something had to improve.

It was a major health crisis that was the eventual catalyst for the change that I desperately needed. A pulmonary embolism threatened to kill me few years after the birth of my daughters. This was just one event in a chain reaction of illnesses and complications I experienced because of the negative energy building up in my physical body. For eight years, each day was a struggle. I was trying to balance family, a career, illness, and a painful past, and thoughts began to creep in: what if I have purpose was something greater than just surviving every day? What if these things had happened for a reason? What if I was meant for something more? It was not until I had a major surgery that some of that negative energy was released and I was able to finally begin to feel different. I knew this was no coincidence; I needed to put some trust in my own being to heal myself – mentally, spiritually, and even physically.

A mother of two and a wife to a loving and supporting husband, I believe that a woman’s role goes beyond that. We too have dreams to fulfill.

Channeling my Power (Shakti), I could turn the tide of negativity and struggle in my life to empowerment and enlightenment. The fulfillment for which I had searched for so long, was there within me all along, in my inner being – a power waiting to be harnessed. By accessing my innermost strength, my Shakti, I healed and became aligned with my true purpose and my spiritual self. I have been through life's challenges and I know how to come out of it stronger and better and if you are battling any challenge now and are ready to commit to a change, I can tell you it might not be easy, but you do not have to do it alone. I am here to support you through this and help you succeed.

What's my Purpose?

I am passionate about helping other women overcome the things which so easily weigh them down. I believe that the mind, body, and spirit are all intertwined, and I am excited to guide women how to achieve wholeness using their thought processes, nutrition habits, and self-confidence. Creating trust in intuition, she inspires others to make the world beautiful from the inside out, and in turn, to support other women in a tight-knit global community. My understanding that health and happiness are inextricably connected is key in bringing about transformation. I use holistic approach to help them ignite their power, bringing about positive and inspiring change in each woman, giving them the tools they need to be truly happy, healthy and successful in this life.

She has negative relationships with her body – her weight or her health, and she wants to change that. She is raising a family or pursuing a career or simply leading a busy life and needs help creating balance in herself and in her community. She has an open mind and a willingness to improve.
